Biography

Koen Pieterse studied Chemical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and majored in Organic Chemistry in 1996 in the group of prof.dr. E.W. Meijer. He started his PhD-research in the same group on the subject of “Electron-Deficient Materials based on Azaheterocycles”, which he finished in 2001. Currently, Koen is working as a researcher in the BioModeling and bioInformatics group of prof.dr. P.A.J. Hilbers (TU/e), where his research topics concern coarse grained molecular dynamics simulations of biomembranes and vesicles as well as simulation of full atomistic models of various supramolecar systems.
